Join me for a transformational weekend of powerful, therapeutic Yoga and personal accomplishment. You’ll be guided through delicious asana practices and I will share effective tools for recognising, valuing and nurturing your brilliance. Sessions are suitable for all levels!

The programme :

Saturday, April 14 : Workshop 1 – 10 am – 12:30 pm : Who am I?

Immerse yourself in a journey of discovery. You’ll experience a sublime Forrest Yoga practice interwoven with practical techniques to help you to feel exactly where you are RIGHT NOW. From there, you’ll begin to uncover the glimmers of what else is possible — in your practice, your body and your daily life. This is a pivotal step in your personal evolution!

Included in this workshop are the basic moves and foundations of Forrest Yoga.

Bring writing materials as well as your yoga props (block, strap and a rolled up beach towel)… and be ready for adventure.

Saturday, April 14 : Workshop 2 – 2 pm – 4:30 pm : Ignite your Inner Fire: Connect to your Core

Feeling good (or awful) is intrinsically connected to your gut. This workshop is designed to get you connected to a place that’s often ignored — your belly! Focusing on the core — from the pelvis to the top of the head — we’ll pay special attention to the abdominals. You’ll learn techniques for strengthening and stretching out your core, massaging your internal organs and shifting the physical or metaphorical gunk that that may be holding you back and/or stopping you from using your (gut) instincts.

You’ll feel these benefits:

• Boost your self-esteem
• Improve digestion
• Detoxify your whole body
• Strengthen your core

Practitioners of all levels are welcome, pregnant yoginis too.

Sunday, April 15 : Workshop 3 – 10 am -12:30 pm : Have Your Cake and it too!

It can be difficult to connect to your goals, dreams, aspirations when you feel torn between what seems like a rock and a hard place. Sometimes resentment for the ones you love sets in — not because you don’t love them, but because you think you can’t achieve your dreams at the same time. You think you can’t ‘have your cake and eat it’ and you’ve put your dreams on an endless and annoying hold.

Here’s an example of what I mean: You have your own young family and work hard to provide for them, but on the other side of the spectrum, your parents are ageing and also need a portion of your time. This makes you tired, you feel irritable about these things, yet you do, deep down love these two aspects of your life. You just can’t see a way of doing both without being p*ssed off!

Another example might be: You love yoga and are thinking about doing a teacher training, but you also love the stability that a 5-days a week job brings into your life. You feel trapped and torn between the two worlds. You just can’t see a way to make it work and it’s making you miserable at work and frustrated on your yoga mat.

There are many, many possible scenarios!

As well as the emotional angst, life’s paradoxes nearly always show up in your body as tension!

In this workshop, inspired by the work of Brooke Medicine Eagle, you’ll get to identify and explore any opposing areas of your life and build a strategy for enabling them both. I will guide you through a delicious 90 minute asana practice (suitable for all levels) to bring you into your body’s wisdom. You’ll learn to work with any physical tension or shut-down, and you’ll get to experience a range of fun and liberating Forrest Yoga and Shamanic processes to help you ‘have your cake and eat it’ — without the pain of indigestion!

By the time you leave you’ll have:

• Detoxified your body, lubricated your joints and shifted your energy with a delicious and sweaty Forrest Yoga practice
• Useful tools for identifying and connecting to your life’s paradoxes and the physical tension they cause.
• Ways of moving through that physical tension on your own
• Maybe a ‘Eureka’ moment
• A feeling of calm and relief

Bring a yoga mat, block, strap, large towel (to roll up), and writing materials to this session.

Sunday, April 15 : Workshop 4 – 2 pm – 4:30 pm : Step into your Power!

Backbends encourage us to physiologically open up the whole front-line of the body. From the feet all the way up to the crown of the head.

For most of us this is the absolute opposite to what our bodies spend a large percentage of their time doing. We sit, we drive, we watch TV, we use our mobile phones & computers etc… All of these actions cause collapse in the front mid-body and often our breathing, maybe even our dreams/ambitions/self-esteem.

In this workshop, come and enjoy the sensations of space and length in the torso, begin the process of opening up to what is possible on and off the mat, and importantly, find out how your legs will help you step forward with confidence.

Together we’ll explore the exhilarating backbends that juice up your energy and get the endorphins — the happy hormones — flowing. Both key elements of stepping into the best version of yourself.

At the end of the session, soak up an extended savasana and a gorgeous shamanic journey. A blissful way to end your weekend.
